Banana Attack!

Banana Attack!

I have a battle at times with two different sides of my personality: a vindictive side and a compassionate side. Right after this happened, I made myself repeat "let the banana thrower be happy, let him be liberated, let him be peaceful..." over and over until I calmed down, but then my immature vindictive side took over and I put the business information that was on the side of the vehicle that threw the banana online without ever complaining to the company in person. I've removed it now (1:25 PM, score one for compassion) and I've removed all of the comments that refer to the business by name.

I apologize for handling this like a jerk. Someday, my compassionate side will win. Until then, I'll keep apologizing.

It's not funny that someone threw a banana at you while you were on your bike. You should report this as an assault and press charges against whoever the hell this was. They could easily have killed you.

Employees of yours recently threw a banana at my bicycling friend while riding in a company vehicle.

Oh, wow! That is absolutely crazy! Who throws bananas out of all things in the world to throw? Hm, I guess it would work like some odd boomerang or something, haha. :)

This comment was left by an anonymous person, and I thought it was a good point so I'm putting it back with the name of the company redacted:

I just called [the company] and spoke with a guy called [name]. He was surprised to hear about the incident and genuinely upset that it had happened. This got me thinking about the cartoon, and the cartoonist. It seems like your intent was to get even, to punish the business for the actions of an employee. This would make sense if you had contacted them and received a brush-off. But it seems like you didn't give them a fair chance to respond by apologizing or dealing with the banana-thrower. They threw a banana, and you threw one back at them. Now you're even!
