A new year, and new paintings.
Man, I can't believe it is already almost a week into 2009. I've been really busy with a lot of fun drawing projects, and of course, taking care of sick Elmer. Elmer came home the Saturday before Christmas and began making a quick recovery from his kidney problems, but last Friday, he started to lose his appetite, and it wasn't long before we were back at the vets. It seemed that the lack of appetite that Elmer suffered when his kidneys were troubling him has caused him to develop fatty liver disease. There is an easy way to treat this ailment: get the cat to eat. However, the main symptom of the disease is lack of appetite. We're hoping not to have to force feed him, and the appetite stimulant he started today is already helping. Fingers crossed!
Of course all these vet bills are racking up, and since Wendy and I are supporting ourselves through bookbinding and drawing/web design, we don't have a lot of extra income. So we're going to have a fundraiser to help Elmer with his medical bills! First up, I am making some little paintings based on "famous" works of art, but featuring Montana and Elmer. Here are the two I finished this week, which are available at my etsy shop:

Wendy and I are also putting the finishing touches on a new book that should be out in a few days. Comics about cats! Hand bound hardcover loveliness! Special guest strips! Oh Boy!
